LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The objective of this course is for the student to develop an understanding of: Basic sound transmission, ultrasound and Doppler instrumentation, factors affecting sonography, various scanning technologies, and image characteristics. The principle and operation of basic imaging instrumentation with color and Doppler processors. The Doppler effects and equation, appearance of blood flow along with hindrance of flow will be taught. Students will also understand how to recognize and correct artifacts, quality assurance standards, and health-related effects of ultrasound waves.
The principle and application of vascular scanning requirements for various parts of the body, along with appropriate equipment selection, calibration, required equipment adjustments, and quality assurance unique to vascular scanning. Students will also learn the different ways a simple question can be asked and learn about important equations and relations.
